“不是你。是我。”
Man, if I had a dime for every time I’ve heard that one.
Yes, my friends. I’m embarking on all new, and remarkably painful, linguistic adventures. Last night, my lovely lady friend from Chengdu broke up with me in two languages. That was a new one.
Was it the Guy With Good Hair? Who knows. It doesn’t matter, really. I’m not going to spend much time crying in my fried rice over it. We had a few laughs. Broke up a few opium dens. What more can you ask from a relationship?
Ah, singledom. It’s the New Black.

Sorry to hear that, Frank. Chin up!
Oh Frank, I think she is right, there must be something wrong with her. Breaking up with a guy as nice and funny and talented as you is a sure sign that she is crazy. (Ok, I just insulted a woman you liked, but it is for a good cause
Big hug, and then move on to new adventures! We love you
Barry - No worries, mate! Bigger and brighter things ahead.
Kaixin - Awww. I’m totally going to collect on that hug the next time I’m in China.
Frank
she didn’t even say “不是您。是我。 Ouch that hurts !
Seriously it never feels good. Thank God I have been married for close to 30 years but hear and feel the pain for my kids when it happens to them.
Just remember you got lots of friends in the CPod world and although I wold rather have a hug from Kaixin than from me, here’s a hug from me too.
And to cheer you up take a look at the picture of the laoshi on the Newbie lesson of today. 20 Sept.
Mike
Aw, thanks, Mike! And yeah, I saw that picture. As if I needed another reason to come here every day.
