Hey, gang! How’s everybody doing?
I listened to Qing Wen on my way to work this morning and I have to say that it really is a fantastic show. The hosts are personable, the content essential, and the format and delivery just top notch. It’s become a really important part of my learning process here.
I know that a lot of people often refer to the brain as a muscle, but the comparison holds true here. If any of you have every engaged in any kind of long-term exercise program, you know that there’s a law of diminishing returns on exercises. If you continue to do the same lifts week after week, eventually you’ll just stop receiving the maximum benefits that exercise can deliver. That’s what I like about Qing Wen and The Fix. It’s altered my “exercise” routine enough that I can feel that muscle in my skull flexing a lot more. Throw in my nightly chats with some friends overseas and I’m varying my workout enough to really feel a difference.
I really can’t believe it’s only (and already!) been a year since I started learning Chinese with ChinesePod!
I was glad to hear Jenny on this week’s Qing Wen. It’s cool that they keep swapping out the hosts now and then so we can hear different voices. I do wish they’d bring Aggie back, though. She’s just fantastic. (I did my Practice Plan (aka The Octagon) with her, so I may be a bit biased. Hehe.)
New podcast tonight, kids. Gonna be a good time!
See you there!

请问,‘请问’ 是什么?
So what is ‘qing wen’?
请问 is a feature available to Premium subscribers that digs down a bit into grammar and such. It’s half in English, half in Chinese, and its done wonders for me already. They cover a wide range of topics, but it delves a bit deeper than just the normal lesson dialogues. I love it.
