Dialogue I: Asking about an Examination

We have lots of juicy “testy” language in this lesson, covering exam taking, character writing, and even grammar. Such abstract topics are starting to reach the upper bounds of ChinesePod’s ultra-practical Newbie lessons, so today we bring in a few Elementary lessons.

Dialogue II: Preparing for a Chinese Class

School, school, school… it’s all about school.

• Newbie - Singing Ability All this talk about “practice” is relevant to more than just language abilities–it’s also relevant to singing!
• Newbie - Speaking and Writing When it comes to Chinese class and language ability, you have to be able to talk about ability to speak and to write.
• Newbie - I can’t write it Sometimes you need help with those really difficult characters.
• Elementary - Man or Woman?
  This lesson relates to the end of the dialogue. Make sure you have the basics of identifying gender down!
• Newbie - How YOU doin?
  A little light-hearted dialogue related also to the end of the IC dialogue.
