We’ve been getting lots of positive feedback about the ChinesePod “Related Lessons” really beefing up people’s Integrated Chinese studies. This makes us so happy that we intend to… keep doing what we’re going! Today it’s Lesson 4, so off we go!

Dialogue I: Talking about Hobbies

When it comes to hobbies (and especially sports), ChinesePod has its bases covered. However, most of these lessons are at the Elementary level, and we want to stick with purely Newbie content for now. Here are two lessons with openings extremely similar to Dialogue I’s:

• Newbie - What are your hobbies? This lesson starts off with a question very similar to the first line of IC’s dialogue, but uses the word for “hobby,” the name of the chapter. Lots of reinforcement here!
• Newbie - Weekend Warriors This lesson starts with the exact same line as IC, but goes in a different direction with the answer. You’ll learn some new vocabulary with this one.

Dialogue II: Inviting Someone to Play Ball

• Newbie - Long Time No See Although the beginning is remarkably similar to Dialogue II, this dialogue ends sooner and without the invitation to play ball.
• Newbie - Intro 4: Do you like China? More practice with saying you like things. This dialogue keeps it quite simple.
• Newbie - I like beef More talk about what you like to eat

There are many more lessons on ChinesePod about playing ball at the Elementary lesson, so if you’re a sports fan, you have many supplementary lessons to look forward to!
