Normally we would give you some new lessons here to complement your Integrated Chinese lessons. The idea is that after you’ve finished another three lessons or so, there’s a broader range of lessons you can tackle.
Unfortunately, when the lessons you’ve covered are only Lesson 1 and Lesson 2, the range isn’t quite as broad. So for just this once, we’re going to make our selections from the Related Lesson recommendations we made before. If you didn’t try them already, then shame on you, but now is your chance for redemption!
- Newbie - Intro 2: What’s your name? Say hi and ask the other person’s name. Social interaction at its simplest!
- Newbie - Initial Client Meetings A more polite tone here, and business cards are passed around.
- Newbie - Polite Introductions Building also on the material from (Lesson 1) Dialogue I, in this dialogue you learn how to ask where a person is from.
- Newbie - Intro 3: Where are you from? In this lesson, you actually learn to make a guess about where someone is from. The answer is affirmative.
- Newbie - Identifying Family Members The setup here is very similar to the (Lesson 2) IC dialogue: looking at a photo, very simply identify the family members in it.
- Newbie - Family Ties A simpler version of the beginning of (Lesson 2) Dialogue II, this dialogue uses slight variations on the same language.
- Newbie - Professional Life A simpler version of the job discussions of (Lesson 2) Dialogue II.
Stay tuned for Friday’s “Fix” audio review, and then we’ll be plunging onward to Lesson 3!
