I’ll be speaking at Hugo Restaurant tomorrow evening on the topic of the old chestnut, Web 2.0. The event kicks off is at 6:15 and is sponsored by the British Chamber of Commerce, the Benelux Chamber (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), and the Irish Business Forum.
The address is N.4, Lane 289, Wei Hai Road, Shanghai - phone 021-63278828. Admission is a paltry 250 yuan, or 350 for non-members of the chams.
I’ll be talking about Web 2.0 (with ChinesePod as an example of web 2.0 principles at work) as well as the consequences for mainstream businesses who ignore the evolution of the web.
If you’re in Shanghai, do come along. Feel free to join in the fun, but try to keep any heckling down to a dull roar.
Update: If any of you have a message you’d like to send to the participants, feel free to post it here and I’ll share it with participants tomorrow evening.
Update: I actually recorded the presentation, but it took 60 minutes. Given the bandwidth issues at the moment (still slow over here) I’ll avoid posting it for now.)

So leave the rotten eggs at home this time eh? No running up and down the aisles saluting and singing the little friends song? Aw, no fun
Seriously though, that’s great news. When you do something remarkable it’s not that hard to get international recognition in your field, but having your words valued amongst assorted peers in your home town, with very busy people willing to spend an evening listening to your story, that takes a whole next level of credibility and respect.
I know it’ll go really well.
Good luck! If I were in Shanghai, I would love to come.
Great, I wish I would be there.
Once the conference is done may be you could post your speech on the blog for those poor non-Shanghai residents that are ChinesePod and Web2.0 afficionados
By the way, thanks for your work!
Claude,
I’m hoping to pre-record it tomorrow morning it and upload it to the blog. I don’t how good it’ll be but I love talking about ChinesePod and the ChinesePod community.

My teleporter is on the blink again, otherwise I would go.
Good luck.
Ken, 加油!
Great, thanks a lot, Ken!
