Weblog Search

The ChinesePod weblog is an important part of everything we do here at ChinesePod. The Weblog is a place where we share ideas, answer questions and gather feedback, and have a little fun (pictures, video hotpot, etc.). We encourage (read require) all of the people involved with ChinesePod to participate in the Weblog. Some people have more to say about less, other people have less to say about more. Specialized or generalized, you will find conversations of all kinds inside the ChinesePod weblog.

To date more than 250 posts have been written and 1800 comments made. The weblog has itself become a rich source of information. To make the information more accessible we have implemented a new search function for the Weblog. The search bar is located in the top left corner of the Weblog. You can search words in the title and body of posts. I just did a search on the word “lexical” and it appears that Ken has had a lot to say on the subject.

Give the new search function a try and let us know what you think. We hope this will make navigating the Weblog a little bit easier.

Kind Regards,

Matt Park 段伟

Works fine. Would it be possible to also add search word highlight, so you can see straight away the word you searched for in the text?

Bazza, I think the search feature is going to stay pretty simple for now, but a list of added funtionality ideas is being compiled and when we revisit this feature we will try to incorporate as many of them as possible.

Ok, it seems that a better search bar has now become a bigger priority. We’d like your input on what kind of search features you would like the most and if you have an example of a particular search bar used on another blog (preferably word press) feel free to point us to it. We’ll take your feedback and see what we can implement.

The search includes by commenter name, or by date, or by a date-range.
The search can give returns from across the comments, blog…and wiki, forums.
