A visit from Mr. ‘Zhong wen’

Today we were glad to receive an honored guest. Professor Rick Harbaugh of the U Indiana, at Bloomington, came to visit the ChinesePod factory on Huang Pi Road. Professior Harbaugh may not be well known to you, but his work could be: he is the man behind the zhongwen.com website.

For years, Zhongwen.com has been one of the most visited websites on the internet for people seeking to learn Chinese. I believe professor Harbaugh has been working on it for 10 years or so. Interestingly enough, the profoessor actually teaches economics, not Mandarin, so the site has been more or less a hobby for him.

Professor Harbaugh brought a group of 20 or so undergraduate business students to the factory. We had a chat and tthey asked some very smart questions about the business behind ChinesePod. I hope they got a lot out of it. For me it ’s always great chatting to such a group of young, enthusiastic souls!

If you haven’t visited zhongwen.com, I suggest you check it out - here.
