The rest of you are cordially invited to attend the first ever ChinesePod meetup in Shanghai on 14th at 7pm at the Big Bamboo restaurant & bar conveniently located on 132 NanYang Road and TongRen Road, behind the Portman Hotel. This is your chance to meet the people behind ChinesePod, and mingle with other Chinese language learners from around the world. Well … at least those living in Shanghai anyway. Is the map correct? I used to live there - at Nanyang and Shanxi there’s a large mansion and a church where the circle is. I think the location is more precisely at Nanyang and Tongren.
The map didn’t connect Xikang Lu and Nanjing Lu. We have updated it now.

A good place to stay in Shanghai

I found this very nice motel franchise in Shanghai. The rates are inexpensive, Y168 for a single room. But they book those rooms quickly and alternate rooms are pricier, although still only topping out at about Y300 which is still very affordable.
The motel is like a trendy Motel Six but much nicer, and extremely clean and organized in comparison to a lu-guan or non-western hotel. It’s quite easy to get a room upon arrival and taxi-drivers are familiar with the chain, just saying motel or yi-liu-ba will get you there. 168 comes from the price of it’s standard room.
